5 Reasons Why Blogging Isn't Right For You 2022

I strongly advise everybody with the desire and capacity to establish a blog for a variety of reasons.

In 2009, I began blogging to express my creativity and share stories about wanting more from life than money and prestige.

Since I started this blog, incredible things have transpired. I've made a tonne of new friends, started a business, discovered creativity I didn't know I possessed and developed a business that allows me to travel the world and work from any place.

I've even gotten job offers (to which I politely declined), company offers, unusual and lovely gifts in the mail, and endless emails from readers who inspire me, make me think and make me grateful every day for the opportunity to share my voice and help others through writing.

When I think back on the incredible changes that have occurred in my life over the last three years, blogging has been at the heart of those transformations.

I've been a lucky blogger, and so have many of my friends.

I've seen friends and peers do incredible things with blogging, and through my classes and one-on-one coaching, I've helped hundreds of others get started.

When I first started blogging, I didn't know any well-known bloggers or anyone who made a living from it. I now know dozens of people who make a living by blogging, as well as dozens more whose lives have been transformed as a result of blogging. Among my closest pals are several bloggers.

The advantages of blogging are obvious and well-known, but not every blogger will benefit from them. Only a small percentage of the hundreds of millions of blogs that exist achieve the goals that the writer sets out to achieve.

  • Why do certain blogs become hugely popular while the majority go unnoticed?
  • Is it possible for you to start a successful blog?

Here are five blogging truths you should be aware of before you begin.

1- Building a successful blog takes a lot of time, patience, and perseverance

I've seen a pattern among the top bloggers I've met, including Chris Guillebeau, Leo Babauta, Danielle LaPorte, and Ramit Sethi. They have earned all of their blogging success since they have put in a lot of effort over a lengthy period.

For these and all of the other well-known bloggers I know, luck had a minor role. Every week, they simply work their asses off. They are all bright, but when it comes to blogging, brilliance takes a back seat to hard effort.

And here's the thing: the bar for new bloggers is really high. If you want a seat at the table, you must be willing to work as hard as some of these top bloggers.

Successful bloggers understand that hard work is their hidden weapon.

2- Blogging isn't a get-rich-quick scheme

You'll be doing well if your blog generates any revenue during the first 6-12 months. You'll be doing extremely well if you can completely support yourself within two years of starting your blog.

Don't expect to make a living in a few months. It's never happened to a new blogger before. Building a blog-based business is exciting and fulfilling, and incredible things can be accomplished, but don't expect it to happen fast.

Allow yourself 18-36 months to achieve a full-time income from blogging. To remind yourself that it will require a lot of effort to make it happen, refer to point #1 above. If making money is your only goal, there are faster ways to get there than through blogging.

The most successful bloggers are motivated by more than just monetary gain.

3- You must enjoy creating material to be a successful blogger

Blogging necessitates a significant amount of content creation.

For most bloggers, this entails a lot of writing. For some, this may include producing a large number of videos, podcasts, or pictures. In any case, you'll be putting out a lot of work.

You'll be writing 1000s of words per week, from blog articles to reacting to comments and emails to publishing on social media to writing guest posts for other websites.

Blogging will be practically impossible for you to succeed if you don't enjoy writing or otherwise capturing ideas to share with others.

You may learn to like this talent, but you must first have the appropriate mindset. If you're on the fence about whether or not you enjoy creating large amounts of material, make it a goal to find a way to enjoy it. Choose topics, a tone, and a structure that are appropriate for you. Don't feel obligated to follow in the footsteps of previous bloggers.

Successful bloggers find a way to fall in love with the process of creating content. The sooner you get started, the sooner you'll have a successful blog.

4- You don't have a clear goal for your blog

This, in my opinion, is the most important reason why many business blogs fail to get traction.

They appear to be unable to concentrate. Their content has no discernible pattern, and it's tough to figure out what they're attempting to accomplish with it.

You must have a clear goal in mind for your blog, just as you must for anything else in the company. You can't expect a blog to bring you, customers, if it's only updated with photos and news from your last company event.

Your blog should be an integral element of your overall marketing plan. You should be specific about the goals you wish to attain with it.

There should be a compelling purpose for you to devote so much time and effort to your blog.

Do you want to attract more customers? Or are you primarily concerned with raising product awareness?

Whatever your goal is, you must be crystal clear about it. Because your goal will ultimately determine the type of material you publish on your blog and the marketing channels you utilize to promote your content.

5- You don't have a strategy for blogging.

You won't be able to attract consumers just by blogging. You'll need a more comprehensive plan, including blogging as a significant component.

Your strategy should contain not only the type of content you'll develop for your target market but also a detailed plan for promoting that material so that it reaches the right people at the appropriate time.

Your social media approach is no exception. Blogging, content promotion, social networking, and other online tools are all interconnected and cannot be used in isolation.

Each of these elements has a distinct function in attaining your goals, and they should be used in tandem as part of your overall content marketing plan.

Many business blogs, in my experience, have a random collection of postings that don't contribute to any particular direction.

Create a content sequence and relate it to the overall plan. That is the only way to progress.

Remember that beginning a blog is actually quite simple. Thousands of new blogs are launched every day. Everyone can create a blog in 5 minutes, but only a few people will create blogs that matter.
